Take the lid off the box

You haven’t always been afraid to step out.

First you crawled.

Then you learned to walk.

Then came driving a car.

Flying on an airplane.

The world felt limitless – and so did you.

Until imposter syndrome reared its ugly head.

The Judgy McJudgerson part of your brain told you why you can’t or shouldn’t or won’t.

And if that self-doubt wasn’t enough, Judgy brought some friends with her.

Over-worker.

Perfectionist.

Pleaser.

Procrastinator.

Controller.

These are familiar aren’t they.

Each time you listen to one of them, your world shrinks bit by bit and you find yourself sitting in a tiny little box with the lid tightly shut.

No bold experiences.

No stretching.

No life the way you dreamt it would be.

Boxes can be comfortable for sure.

I’ve spent time in some myself.

And – no matter how cozy I made it, a box is still a box.

You find yourself playing small once again.

So here’s my challenge to you:

Find one small I can’t in your life and take the lid off that box.

Look around.

There’s a big bold beautiful world out there just waiting for you to join in.

Apply for that big job.

Learn how to play the piano.

Plan that dream trip to Africa.

If you’re afraid of heights like me, go zip lining. (That’s on my Spring 2022 list)

The worst thing that can happen is you’ll learn something new about yourself.

The best thing that can happen is that you’ll stretch yourself and your confidence and belief in you gets stronger.

Push the top off that box. Stick your head out.

Use that fear as a ladder to get out of the box of self-doubt.

Step into the freedom of courage and belief in yourself.

PS- If you’re ready to step out of the boxes you’ve been living in, I’m here for you. Schedule your complimentary Discovery Call with me today and let’s talk about how you can blow the lid off all your boxes.
