Spin cycles are for washing machines-not people.

Every day it’s the same.
You wake up and before your feet hit the floor, you’re already spinning on all the work that lies before you. You get up feeling behind before your first cup of coffee.
As the morning continues the feeling of dread swoops in because of everything spinning around in your head: summer camp for the kids or not, laundry, dinner, car repair, presentation you’re giving, your mother’s birthday that you forgot was today…
Now you feel even more behind, so out goes the exercise you had planned.
The day progresses and so does the cycle of repetitive negativity.
Same thoughts and behaviors.
Same self-doubt.
Same shame.
This is the spin cycle of negativity and it never gets you to a different place.
There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s just your brain isn’t being supervised.
It’s running around like a toddler with a scissors and no good ever comes of that.
So how do you change this?
Start noticing what your brain is telling you.
You see, your brain like most people’s is on autopilot – just thinking the same things over and over and over again.
Same shit. Different day.
That’s how you stay stuck.
But you don’t have to stay there. You can change the narrative in your head.
How?
First – decide you want to do life differently. Really decide.
Next, start questioning the thoughts you’re having.
Ask yourself, “Is this useful to me?” If the answer is a big fat no, then you have a place to start.
Then, choose a thought that is useful; one that you can believe with practice.
How does that thought make you feel?
When you feel that, how do you show up in the world? If I were to peek inside your house (not in a creepy way), what actions would I see you taking?
And what are the results of all that action?
When you decide to stop being on autopilot and start deliberately choosing your thoughts, you’ll experience a shift in how you feel.
Gone is the dread you feel in the morning and in its place a feeling of curiosity for what the day will bring.
Gone is the shaming and blaming and instead there’s a belief that something new and better is possible – and you are just the one to create it.
Leave the spin cycle to your washing machine.
Decide you want to live on purpose rather than by default.
P.S. I know. I know. You think you can do this by yourself and you’ve tried – forever. Somehow, you’re still in the same mental place. This is where coaching with me makes a huge difference. Schedule a call with me today and let’s talk about how working together can help you make the shifts you want happen so much faster. I believe in you.
