Have You Been Told You’re Too Much?

Life is funny.

As a young adult just starting out in the work world, I didn’t fit in the corporate space. I didn’t like wearing suits – too confining and I looked like everyone else.

I was told my ideas were “too farfetched” and my communication was “too direct”.  Oh, and my energy (personality) was just “too much”.

Really.

I didn’t think so.

But they did.

And I did something I never thought I would.

I believed them.

I changed to fit in.

I dimmed my light.

Until I couldn’t anymore.

In just a few years, my soul had had enough.

So, I left that world to become an entrepreneur and I’ve never looked back.

Three successful businesses later, I am enjoying the most fulfilling work I’ve ever done.

(I raised three kids in that time who think I’m too much, in a good way 😉)

And do you know who some of my clients are?

Yep, you guessed it – leaders in the corporate space.

Now, I have companies who pay me for my outside-the-box thinking, creativity and direct approach to communication. I work with their teams on becoming more productive and effective. I work with individual leaders to help them with their authentic presence. (You can find out more about my Lead It Real™ Leadership Coaching program for women here.)

They hire me to speak at their conferences because they love my “high energy” and how I connect with their people so quickly.

I still don’t wear corporate-y clothes, preferring my own style of casual elegance, bling and my favorite color – animal print.

Does any of this resonate with you?

Are you hearing that you’re just too much (or not enough)?

Don’t believe a word.

Trust me. You’re just right.

I stopped trying to fit in a long time ago and I invite you to do the same.

The world doesn’t need a watered-down version of who someone else thinks you should be.

The world needs the best version of you.

Have you been wondering how coaching can help you stop listening to that voice of self-doubt that tells you all the reasons why you can’t get to where you want to go? Well, wonder no more my sister.
