Got a lot of negative chatter in your head?
When a new client comes to me the first thing we start working on is their thinking – about most everything. What always shows up is how much negative chatter there is that’s taking up so much precious space in their brain.
Their first question to me sounds something like “How do I stop thinking this way?”
They don’t want to feel the way that thought makes them feel – and I get that.
Here’s what I help them understand:
When you resist it or try to ignore it, that only makes it stronger.
It’s like a beach ball in the water. The harder you push it down, the faster and stronger it will pop back in your face.
The key is not resistance.
As humans, we’re so quick to judge, aren’t we? Social media is a perfect example of that. We don’t want to admit we’re judgy, but alas, we’re human so therefore we judge.
And we judge ourselves the harshest.
That critical voice in your head isn’t there to help you grow or get you what you want.
It’s there to keep you playing small.
Rather than ignore or try to resist it, I’ve got a better plan.
Embrace it with love.

Envision that voice as a person who is scared and wrap her up in love and compassion.
Compassion will bring you clarity.
Then, think of all the reasons why you can do what it is you really want to do.
Maybe you’ve already done it before.
Maybe it’s your calling.
Maybe your inner wise self knows you can.
Listen to her.
Trust her.
Now go out and create what you crave.
