woman sitting by beach in Europe

What are you saying yes to?

You have dreams.

We all do. But are you creating space for them to come true?

It requires saying “yes” to believing in them – and yourself.

This week’s episode is all about shifting into “yes” energy.

What You’ll Learn:

  • What you’re really saying yes to – and it’s not what you think.
  • 3 questions to ask yourself to find out what you’re dreaming about.
  • The importance of getting started – no matter how small the steps.
  • Bonus – the must-read book that will inspire you to act.

This podcast is called Create What You Crave and you can’t do that if you’re always looking at what’s missing or going wrong. You get to create the mindset that will get you where you want to go. You get to dream bigger than ever, but only with a mindset that is centered on what’s possible for you.

You are listening to episode 68 of the Create What You Crave Podcast. The one where we talk about what you’re saying yes to and why it’s important to know.

Hello there! Happy Worthiness Wednesday! This podcast drops a new episode on Wednesdays which I’ve decided are going to be called Worthiness Wednesdays so that’s what I’m doing.

Now if you’re listening and it’s not a Wednesday, no worries. Whatever day it is for you, know you’re worthy. So how are you doing? How’s this year going for you so far?

We’ve talked about saying no and why that’s so important in the last few weeks and I wanted to talk about the other side of that.

When you say no to something, you’re saying yes to something else

We have this one life to live, and I invite you to look at how you’re living it.

  • Are you just going through the motions, living each day the same as the one before?
  • Are you in a rut of routine?
  • It’s the middle of the year – are you where you thought you’d be?

If your answer is no, don’t despair. You can turn this around pretty quickly by beginning to say yes.

Who do you want to be?

What do you want to do?

What do you want to have?

These are great questions to ask when you’re beginning to look at your life and how you’re living it.

Take the time to do this.

Journal all your dreams and desires. Let it all flow – no judgment of whether or not you can do it or if it’s realistic. That’s a buzzkill for sure. Just let it all flow out.

Are there things on that list that you’ve told yourself you can’t do, don’t have time for or can’t afford to do?

When you do that, you’re saying no to your deepest desires. You’re telling yourself you’re not worth it. I totally disagree.

When you say no to…

  • Taking time off, you’re really saying yes to overworking
  • Completion, you’re really saying yes to more stress.
  • What’s scheduled on your calendar, you’re really saying yes to overwhelm.
  • Speaking up, you’re really saying yes to staying small.

I invite you to start saying yes to what you want

You have those dreams because they are possible, otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to dream them.

I have a friend who moved from the US to France and has lived there for many years. She is living the life that I have dreamt of for years but never did anything about.

I didn’t think it was possible to do if I’m being honest. I didn’t know I could move my family overseas to live and work in Europe. It never entered my mind that I could actually do that.

What limitations are you putting on your own thinking and dreaming?

There’s a saying, “the days are long and the years are short” and it couldn’t be more true.

I look back at the last 30 years of my life and am amazed at how quickly they flew by. While I was in the thick of having and raising kids, the days were indeed long, but as I enter into another chapter of my life, I marvel at how each year passes more quickly than the last.

We each have this one life in this one body. Are you allowing yourself to truly live it?

I’m currently reading an incredible book that is so meaningful to me. It is The Top Five Regrets of the Dying by Bronnie Ware, an Australian nurse who spent several years working in palliative care.

She asked her patients about their regrets and what they would do differently. Their answers were profound.

Some wished they had the courage to live a life true to themselves, not the life others expected of them.

Others wished they hadn’t worked so hard. And then, there were those who wished they’d allowed themselves to be happier, to shake off old patterns and fears and embrace joy.

I challenge you to take action on your list today

Look at your list and choose one thing and take the steps to make it happen.

For me, it’s spending time in Europe. Sure, it might not be possible to pack up and move to Europe immediately, but there are always small steps we can take toward a big dream.

Maybe it starts with learning a new language – I’m learning Italian –  cooking recipes from that part of the world, or planning a short visit.

It’s about setting things into motion, little by little, driving that momentum.

I’m looking into coaching and training opportunities with European companies. I’m looking at speaking opportunities at conferences in Europe. I’m scoping out places to stay in France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium.

I firmly believe that saying “yes” to what you want is one of THE most important things you will ever do in your life.

Saying YES requires bravery, resilience, and a giant splash of audacity, but the rewards are incomparable.

The thrill of chasing after what you desire, the satisfaction of saying, “I did the damn thing!” That’s a feeling you’ll remember at the end of the day, and at the end of your life.

Don’t wait for ‘another life’ or a ‘better time.’ Stop postponing your dreams. Align yourself with who you truly are, and step boldly in that direction. Don’t be the woman looking back on your life with regrets. Be the person admiring the stories you created.

This is your life. You get to decide. You get to choose to prioritize your dreams instead of leaving them on the back burner.

And you’re going to need help with this by someone who believes in you and the power of saying yes.
